For the 2012 season, the Barnstormers will compete in the AFL’s Central Division. Iowa will play six division games comprised of home and home sets versus Chicago, Kansas City and San Antonio. Having relocated from Tulsa, the San Antonio Talons have become the Barnstormers newest division opponent. Iowa’s rivalry with Kansas City returns when the Barnstormers host the Command on Saturday, May 12. The teams then reverse roles for a rematch on Saturday, July 7th in Kansas City at the Sprint Center.

Other highlights of the 2012 schedule include home games against former AFL Champions, the Arizona Rattlers (April 14) and the San Jose Sabercats (April 28). Iowa travels to Jacksonville to take on the defending AFL Champion Sharks on Saturday, May 19th. The Barnstormers are also featured on national television when they host the Cleveland Gladiators on Friday, June 2nd live on the NFL Network. Iowa will host their 4th annual military night when the Pittsburgh Power comes to town on Saturday, June 30. The Barnstormers wrap up their regular season home schedule on July 21, when they battle San Antonio.

Once again this season, all Iowa Barnstormers home games will be played on Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Field at Wells Fargo Arena. All 9 home games will be played on Friday and Saturday evenings with a kickoff time of 7:05pm.

Hello, Welcome to my new website. I'm very pleased to announce the release of my first solo album, Double Capricorn. I started recording this album in the summer of 2007, originally for a project called SoloBob. But after sitting on the material for 4 years, I got sick of it; I needed something fresh. I also felt like it represented a certain time and place and mood and I needed a new perspective…after all, this is my first album away from the band (Rooney) I've been apart of for the last 11 years. I came to a place where I needed another outlet for my songs…space and room to try something new, alone. I've always loved working alone. I find it very inspiring and liberating. It's not that working with my band is the opposite of those things; it's just different. I write as I record and I like time alone to let a song come together. I've always written alone and recorded my demos, but when you bring the songs in a band environment, they take on a specific shape based on people's styles and habits. Everyone has a certain taste, sometimes all similar, sometimes different, so you have to be mindful of managing everyone's opinion. It's all part of the process of working as a band and I enjoy that process, but it was time for me to step aside and make an album on my own. The sounds and songs you hear on Double Capricorn were recorded in my home studio in Los Angeles. I played all the parts and spent most of my time alone while I worked. My friend Joel Plotnik (Castledoor) was kind enough to lend his drumming skills to the songs "Someone 2 Love" and "I Know Why." I had a great time working on this music and I feel very lucky to be in a position of making music independently and sharing it directly with my fans. I did feel confused at times with how I wanted to finish my album, after spending so much time listening to the SoloBob songs. I couldn't decide which songs fit and what the right direction was. I also felt unsure about using the name SoloBob for my first solo project. I still like the songs I recorded in 2007, but those songs belong to the SoloBob project and I intend on releasing those songs one day, separately. My friend, Kunchok, is a Tibetan Monk and now, a member of my family. He lived with my family from 2007-2010 while he attended UCLA for a doctorate degree in public health. He is the first and only Monk to receive a doctorate degree in the United States. He is an incredibly kind person and extremely inspiring to be around. He has helped me through hard times and I've learned so much from him. He returned to Tibet the summer of 2010 and I wasn't sure when I would see him again. Thankfully, we were invited to perform in Beijing that following October and he came to visit me. We were invited a second time to perform in Beijing and after the concert, I went to visit Kunchok in Tibet. I was almost going to cancel the trip to Tibet at the last minute because I felt pressure to return back to LA and finish my SoloBob album. Kunchok encouraged me to not put the trip off and I'm happy I didn't because it was the trip to Tibet that gave my album a purpose and helped me find my way. Kunchok started an organization called the Tibetan Healing Fund, which helps woman and children in rural villages receive medical care. The organization built the first birthing center, a homelike hospital that provides quality care to woman and educates woman on prenatal care. Kunchok spent years slowly raising money and was able to build the center for ,000 dollars. I was so impressed with this and I knew I could help him raise enough money to build another center. My experience with Kunchok in Tibet showed me more than I ever was able to see or feel or understand. I felt like I needed more out of my work and this is why I've decided to donate all the profits from the album sales of Double Capricorn to the Tibetan Healing Fund. It brings me so much happiness to take something I love to do, write and record music, and use that music for an important cause like the Tibetan Healing Fund. So little goes such a long way for this cause. Thank you all for your time and interest in this project. THE RELATIONSHIP (Feat. Brian Bell of Weezer)

Recording of The Relationship's first album is taking place at Bell's private home studio in the city of Los Angeles on an analog 8 track. Sean Lennon mentioned in a recent interview that he will appear with Bell on The Relationship's debut record.[1] Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo and Bell co-wrote a song together for the project titled "Hand to Hold," however, Bell has stated he that does not think it will be on their debut album.[2] Bell has posted twenty songs to date on the band's myspace page: "You Rock My Heart," "Please Help Me," "Something More," "Together Tomorrow," "Thought I Knew," "Happiness," "Amy Magazine," "3rd Gnossiennes," "In Love with Love," "Are You Gonna Be?," "Hand to Hold," "Will I Ever See Her Again?," "Mother Night," "Ugly Things," "Mow the Lawn," "Young Temptations," "Mistake Maker," "Sweet on You," "Oh Allen," and "Clown Song." Two versions of "Are You Gonna Be?, "Hand To Hold", "Mother Night, "Please Help Me, "Something More, "Thought I Knew", "Together Tomorrow," and "Will I Ever See Her Again?" were posted. "Hand to Hold" is a reworked version of the Weezer song "Private Message," co-written by Rivers Cuomo. Bell asked Cuomo if he could take a stab at the song since Weezer never officially released it. The band debuted some new songs at their first show on December 15 at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City, Utah . The debut record is nearly complete. In a December 18, 2007 weezer.com update the following was posted: "According to Brian,his other band The Relationship is back on track with some fresh faces in the mix and new recordings are in the pipeline." "Thought I Knew" was re-worked and rerecorded by Weezer for their 2008 self-titled album, although Brian claims the Relationship version will be included on the Relationship album. The Relationship opened for Weezer on three California shows on their 2008 Troublemaker Tour, with Bell pulling double duty with both bands. The mixing of The Relationship's debut album was finished on October 29, 2008. On November 17, 2010, the cover art for The Relationship's self-titled debut was revealed via the band's Facebook page. It was released digitally on Amazon and iTunes on November 30, 2010. Brian Bell also signed and notarized physical copies for fans at Weezer's Memories Tour shows.

Millercoors Activates Consumers And Communities

MillerCoors in partnership with River Network, today kicked off an online grant competition to award nearly $ 60,000 in grants to non-profit organizations in six communities to fund projects focused on water conservation, education and protection. Now in its fourth year, MillerCoors and River Network, a national non-profit organization focused watershed protection with more than 600 local member organizations, have awarded nearly $ 250,000 to date.

?MillerCoors depends on water to brew beer, and by partnering with organizations like River Network we believe we can help improve local watersheds,? said Kim Marotta, director of corporate social responsibility for MillerCoors. ?In the past four years, the MillerCoors ? River Network grant competition garnered more than 50,000 votes from individuals across the world, and we are excited to further engage communities on water issues that affect everyone, everywhere.?

The winning organization will be chosen by the public through an online voting contest. The finalist organization with the most votes will receive a $ 25,000 grant. The five remaining projects will also receive funds, with second place receiving a $ 15,000 grant, third place receiving a $ 10,000 grant, and the three remaining projects each receiving $ 2,000.

River Network and the six finalist organizations share MillerCoors commitment to water stewardship. MillerCoors has set a goal to reduce water usage to 3.5 barrels of water to one barrel of beer by 2015. The company also recently completed a comprehensive watershed mapping exercise to better understand water risks in its eight major brewery communities, three of which are located in water-stressed or water-scarce areas.

?Healthy rivers are vital to the health and future of our communities,? said Todd Ambs, president of River Network. ?Through this partnership, MillerCoors is supporting the protection and restoration of waterways across the country that will produce long-term benefits for people, fish and wildlife, and future generations.?

MillerCoors and River Network encourage people to vote for their favorite project through March 19, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) at http://www.rivernetwork.org/millercoors-river-network-grant-contest-2012. Details for each of the six finalist organizations? proposals follow:

Friends of Marsh Creek (FMC), CA: FMC will host more than a dozen service projects and education events to increase understanding and raise awareness about local water quality issues, while advancing stewardship activities within the Marsh Creek Watershed. These projects will also support California?s efforts to protect the San Joaquin Delta ecosystem.

Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC), MI: CRWC?s WAIT WAIT? Don?t Step There, Fish Here! will address intensive traffic at Yates Park that has contributed to streambank erosion and subsequent destruction of fish habitat and water quality impacts. Streambank restoration, public access development and an ongoing public awareness campaign will help protect one of the most popular fishing locations on the Clinton River.

Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR), MN: FMR?s Urban Riverside Planting Project will improve natural area habitat and water quality at numerous sites throughout the Twin Cities. It will also increase environmental awareness, knowledge and interest in river and watershed stewardship among a diverse group of river neighborhood residents, especially the local Somali and Hmong communities.

Ohio River Foundation (ORF), OH: The Ohio River basin suffers from major sediment erosion. ORF will conduct a native re-vegetation restoration program along the Great Miami River in order to stabilize riverbanks, reduce soil erosion and flooding, improve fish and wildlife habitat, and protect local water quality.

Lake Champlain International (LCI), VT: LCI and community volunteers will educate residents of Burlington, VT, on watershed friendly practices and provide the opportunity to certify their properties as BLUE
